First and foremost, I want to thank you for your support in the CBA since its inception. We’ve influenced regulation and best practices since the beginning, getting multiple bills passed in the CA market. As we move forward, in an effort to streamline efforts and reduce confusion with other regulatory groups and alcohol allies, we’ve agreed to reduce the number of beverage-specific associations going into 2025.
As a result, the Board has decided to dissolve the CBA and focus our collective efforts behind the Coalition for Adult Beverage Alternatives (CABA) and the Hemp Beverage Alliance (HBA). We ask that you shift your support to one or both of these associations, which have different focuses that benefit the infused beverage category.
The Coalition for Adult Beverage Alternatives will focus on federal initiatives like the Farm Bill, Dept of Ag, and Appropriations Committees. CABA is working with top lobbyists in DC with experience in alcohol and agriculture. We set out to unite the hemp beverage and alcohol industries to influence sensible regulation of the category. CABA will also continue hosting the educational webinars for distributors, retailers, package store associations, etc.
The Hemp Beverage Alliance (HBA) will focus their efforts toward state-level regulation and advocacy, working with local brands in each market.
CABA and the HBA are aligned in our messaging and definitions of sensible regulation of infused beverage. We support each other in these efforts and hope you will continue to do so in 2025.
